Super Buddy:
One sunny afternoon a little girl named Sarah felt lonely. Her mom noticed and asked her what was wrong.
Sarah told her mom that she wished for a [[#|pet]]. Her mom decided to take her to the [[#|pet store]] because Sarah was a good girl who always helped around the house. She deserved a new friend.
When they got to the pet store, Vincent’s Pets, they met with the owner, Vince. “Why are you looking for a pet?” asked Vince. “What kind of pets would you like?”
Sarah told him that she likes kittens, puppies, and hamsters, so he showed her where they were. She told him that she wants a pet because she is lonely since her parents divorced. She wants a buddy to make her feel better and comfort her. She knows that a pet will always love her and be fun to play with. So, Vince suggested getting a puppy.
Sarah and her mom discussed whether or not a puppy would be a good idea. They talked about the responsibilities of owning a new puppy and what Sarah would be required to do every day to keep her puppy happy and healthy. Sarah told her mom she would clean up and make sure her puppy always had food and water. They decided that Sarah's new pet would be a puppy.
Sarah and her mom started looking at the puppies. Sarah spotted a puppy with golden fur out of the corner of her eye. She ran over and picked up the puppy and it started licking her face. Little did she know that she had chosen a puppy with special powers...
"Mom, that's the one!" Sarah shouted in excitement. Her mother rushed off to get the supplies needed for her new puppy. Sarah was thrilled with her new puppy, she decided to name him Buddy. She played with him all day long, as he followed her around the house with its cute tiny paws. During dinner that night, Sarah asked her mother, "Can I bring Buddy to Show and Tell tomorrow?" Her mother seemed unsure. "Pretty please?" urged Sarah. After more pleading, her mom allowed it.
The next day when Sarah tried bringing Buddy to school, he seemed different. He started growling and looked upset with his head down. She tried calming him down in his cage before walking into her classroom. When it was time to show Buddy to the class, he was nowhere to be found! All of a sudden, they heard a loud "thump!" The students ran into the hallway and there was Riley, the kid who would pick on Sarah, with a shocked look on his face. "What's going on here?" asked the principal.
"A dog talked to me and told me to stop bullying Sarah." he replied. Sarah ran back into the classroom and checked on Buddy's cage, and there was Buddy with its paw on his lips so that Sarah wouldn't tell. She couldn't believe what just happened! Not only did Buddy have the power to become invisible, but Buddy can talk!
When all of the students in Sarah’s class went home and told their parents, no one believed them! They said there was no way that a dog could talk or become invisible. When Sarah arrived home, Buddy told her that if she wanted magical powers of her own, he could give them to her. When Sarah asked for her magical powers, she asked for the power to teleport. POOF!! She picked up Buddy and teleported to the park. It was so amazing that when Buddy granted her power wish, he also had that power. The powers would not work without Buddy. They were playing on all of the structures in the playground, the swings, slides and monkey bars. They went to get some ice cream from the ice cream truck and teleported back home. Sarah knew that Buddy was a VERY special dog, and made a vow to never share Buddy’s secrets or their magical powers with anyone. She knew that Buddy could grant her any super power that she could think of! Sarah was very happy with her new friend, her powers and all of the adventures that she knew were in their future. Who knows? They could even be superheroes!
